bullet  General Notes:

In about 1667 Stephen Brace came from London to the Plymouth Colony in Swanzea, Massachusetts. He was Norman English, of good estate, and a Puritan.

The introduction to "Brace, John Sherman, M. E., Brace Lineage, Second Edition, Bloomsburg, PA; Geo R. Rlwell? & Son, 1927" states that the Brace family is of Norman French Origin. Two de Braceis received charters of English lands after the Battle of Hastings was fought on 14 October 1066 in England.

He was a hatter and accumulated what was in those early times considered a large estate.

Stephen owned land at Rock Hill, Great Meadow and Podaquanck Lands.

For further research - "The daughters appear to be of age when his will was made on the 2nd of May in 1692. The sons were not of age. The approximate date of his marriage would therefore be about 1666, and his birth 1644."
