According to the 1870 Michigan Census, when Jennette was three years old, she lived in Sciota Township, Shiawassee County. The family used the post office in Laingsburg. In all probability, this is where she was born.
Jennette married William Gay Nixon, son of John Nixon and Anna E., in 1888 in Owosso, Michigan.288 (William Gay Nixon was born in 1866 in Michigan and died in 1927 in Detroit, Michigan.)
